Garden Soil Health with The Accidental Agronomist

Garden Soil Health with The Accidental Agronomist
Saturday April 26th at 2:00 PM
I am SO excited for this collaboration with Monica Pape of The Accidental Agronomist! Before we go any further: what the heck is an agronomist? Don’t let it scare you, it’s a big word meaning an expert in the science of soil health and management and the production of crops. I have been using Monica’s expertise for years! She takes my soil test and interprets it in a way that I can understand and apply to my flower fields for best yields. She has saved me so much time, effort, and money that I would have wasted on unnecessary fertilizers and soil additions all because I wasn’t correctly interpreting my soil test.
I asked Monica if she would be willing to help my home-gardener clients with their personal gardens as I know many (most!) people fail to soil test their gardens primarily because they don’t know where to go or what to do with the results.
During this workshop, Monica will discuss soil health as it pertains to home gardens. She will talk about what’s important, what’s not, what’s “trendy” and what’s just good old science. Monica is an absolute wealth of knowledge while also being very down to earth, easy to talk to , breaks things down into super understandable bites, and, might I add, very funny too!
If you have a garden at home, regardless of size, and have been curious about the NUMBER ONE most important part of it: the soil, then join us on the farm to discuss soil in an easily digestible way. Without good soil, we have no gardens!
There are two ticket options for this workshop:
1) Workshop only: come to learn, Q&A, and soak in every ounce of information to apply towards your own garden!
2) Workshop + Soil Test Interpretation: all the above + bring your own soil test and have Monica interpret it for you. She will give you guidance on what your soil needs, doesn’t need, etc.
Choose from the drop down menu below. If you choose option 2 (including soil test interpretation) I will email you with instructions on how to take a soil sample of your garden and how to send it in before the workshop. Once you receive your results, just bring them along with you to the workshop! (they will be emailed to you once completed, usually takes less than a week)
All materials provided along with light refreshments and beverages.
Rain or shine. Tickets are non-refundable but are transferable.
An agritourism waiver is required to participate in any on-farm event. You will be redirected to that page during checkout and asked to sign virtually acknowledging your understanding of the PA Agritourism Act as it applies to our events.
