Tell me what you want, what you really really want

I wanted to title this post the full back-and-forth dialogue from The Notebook. You know, where Noah asks Allie what she wants, “It’s not that simple.” “D*** it, Allie, what do YOU want!?” I thought, okay, maybe a bit long… so Spice Girls lyrics seemed more practical… per usual I digress before I even start.

But I REALLY want to know what YOU want.

I want this post to be interactive. I want to know what you want from me and Long Lane Farm. What do you want from this blog? What do you want to see in my emails? On social media? What is important to you? What should I cut out or avoid? What do you want to see in person? On-farm events/workshops? In-town events/workshops?

Social media is one of those double edged swords. I really do not like it, however, I feel stuck with it for my business. Eventually, it would be amazing to switch over to email/website only but I’m not sure if that could happen. Could it?!

If you have a few minutes this week, please either respond below (public) or send me an email at emily@longlanefarmflowers.com

Copy and paste the following template and answer any (or all!) questions. Bonus, add something I missed!

  • What would you like to see in the blog? More behind the scenes, more educational, more for the home-gardener, more daily life?

  • What makes you open emails/what do you want to see in my emails? Only special announcements? Sales? No sales?

  • If you follow me on Facebook/Instagram, what do you like to see on that platform? Sometimes I post silly reels, sometimes educational - are they dumb? Do you get a laugh? Do you only want to see flowers or farm/animal pictures/reels too? Are you seeing my posts?

  • What’s the best way to tell you the flower cart is open/we have flowers at DW Market House, our CSA is open etc??

  • What content across the board is MOST important to you? What we have available? Behind the scenes? Life story? Etc…

  • Which platform would you be OK without? Blog/website/social media/email?

  • What do you want to see in person from me? More on-farm events? More off-farm/in-town events? What kind? Workshops? What kind?

  • What would you like to see on the farm?
What would you like to see in town?

  • What else would you like to see Long Lane Farm offer? The sky is the limit and I love hearing ideas!!

I really, REALLY want to know what my customers want from me and value in my content.

Thank you in advance for your time! <3

PS. I started my first seeds of the season on Monday and it felt SO good. It always does. It is so exciting to get the season started. It’s always a fresh start every season. One of so many reasons I love growing flowers; you get to start over every year and you get to dream about what the season to come will be.

I can almost taste spring… but first, those pesky dahlia tubers are still waiting on me to split them…
