Deep Dive into Peonies

For this class, you’ll join Emily on the farm for an informational workshop all about planting and growing peonies. We’ll start with presentation all about growing your own peonies. That will be interrupted by a farm tour learning about all we do here at Long Lane Farm with an emphasis on our peony fields. We’ll then take a deeper dive into everything peonies: planting, growing, end of season care, cut flower production and how it applies to your home garden, diseases, harvesting, fertilizing plus a whole lot more!

Peonies are such a beautiful and hearty plant yet there are some simple (and common) mistakes that can ruin your peony experience at home. I’ve received many questions about “what’s wrong with my peonies? Why aren’t they blooming?” Those frequent questions spurred this class!

At the end of the experience you’ll take home three of your very own peony roots (the exact roots we plant and grow at Long Lane Farm - a $45 value alone!), organic fertilizer to use when planting, as well as an informational sheet that recaps what we discuss during the workshop so you can reference it while planting in your own garden! Fall is the time to plant peonies!

Geared toward the home gardener. No experience necessary. Come and learn!
