Our Wedding Process

What to expect…

what we do

We are a small flower farm that offers our seasonally grown flowers & wedding design services for the discerning couple looking for something different. We design garden-inspired, naturalistic looks from our own crops. Wild, whimsical, botanical looks with movement using only flowers that are in season.

What we don’t do

We do not use floral foam or any dyed or bleached flowers or foliage. We do not bring in flowers out of season.

The inquiry

The first step is to read through our wedding page and scroll our social media pages. If you think our style meets your vision (and this is important because not every floral designer and bride/groom will be a match!) complete the Wedding Inquiry Form. After we receive your form, Emily will reach out to you via email to ask any additional questions depending on the services you are interested in and let you know if your date is available.

For DIY brides, personals, and a la carte, we conduct all of our communications via email with a phone call if needed.

The Proposal/estimate

For DIY/personals/a la carte weddings, Emily will draft an estimate based on the items you requested in your inquiry form.

For Bespoke Full Service Weddings, a proposal will be drafted and sent over first followed by an estimate.

This is a rough draft and can be altered (even after the contract is signed). I understand that you very likely know little or maybe nothing at all about wedding flowers and their associated costs. That’s my job!

Once you receive the proposal/estimate via email, you can determine what stays, what needs to be removed, or perhaps what else you would like to add. Let us know and we will address those needs.

The proposal is a working document and can be altered as you go. A few months before the wedding we will need to confirm any and all changes. After we’ve hit the one-month-to-go mark, you cannot make any additional changes as flowers are perishable products and the planning on our end, from harvest and design schedules to vases and vessels must be accurately accounted for.

Book with us!

If you’ve decided you like our style, our approach to using all (or nearly all) of our own locally-grown flowers and you’re ready to go with Long Lane Farm, we will send you a contract to be read and signed virtually. Then we will invoice you for the 20% non-refundable deposit to save your date. This fee will go toward your wedding flowers. Please know, that I do not take on more than one wedding in a weekend. Therefore, I can only officially hold your date after the contract is signed and deposit paid.

ConsulTations

(for full service bespoke weddings only)

We will schedule a consultation to meet via zoom (or in person) to discuss your full vision, budget, and start the planning process. After this meeting I will follow up with the estimate, we can discuss and tweak as necessary, and if you decide to book with us (see above), I will start on your vision board, details page, and timeline. I can submit these to you via email or we can meet again to go over them together. Once we’re on the same page with your vision, we generally ‘set it and forget it’ until about two months before your wedding. At that time we’ll finalize details, revisit the plan, and set everything in motion (no changes can be made after this time). Four weeks before your wedding, I’ll send another invoice for the final payment. Then your wedding day will roll around, you, your partner, and guests will be wowed by the one-of-a-kind florals, and thoroughly enjoy your best-day-ever with your partner, as it should be!
